Elevator Pitch

Hello, Professor Lisa Morris my name is Hershel Charles Ervin The 3rd and I’am currently an undergraduate freshman here at Penn State Abington.   I’m trying to start a ACURA project and I have recently took a big interest in one of the topics Introduction to the Criminal Justice System, and Race, Crime and Justice. How the Justice system is changing for the better or not at all, If race is playing a big part on officers decisions to use unnecessary physical or deadly forces on victims, and if the officers are being held to the same standards/law as regular citizens are or does the badge save them from the crime and then justice is never done. Professor Morris I do honestly believe that you would fit my ACURA project because you teach this topic at Penn State Abington , you have plenty of experience for this project, and I would love if you worked on this ACURA project with me?

WP2 and Elevator Pitch class work I got done

Think about what we’ve done during our WP2 unit so far We done PB2A, and PB2B to prepare for WP2 Re-read our WP2 assignment Check Check out the PowerPoint slides you’ll need to create for WP2 Check Answer: what are the conventions of this project?  What ingredients, characteristics, features, etc., would make a good WP2 project/presentation? The Criminal justice officers Use our WP1 rubric -- or, really, any rubric you already have or one that you can find -- as an example Check Here’s another rubric that I recently used for my “Business Writing” course Check elevator pitch: Who are you, little Background, Explain provided text, connections to what im talking about, ask, and close. Not exceptions Did meet expectations More than needed Elevator Pitch Articles in the project/Presentations Discuss the Professors

PB2B

Charles Ervin Pb2B These two articles are similar but different in certain areas. The articles describe how the researchers take police brutality and take it and turn it around. Researchers also look at it as in how the suspect was actually involved in crime while they were approached by police and if the police actually had a valuable reason to approach the suspect. The research methods used were called “race farming’’, National Police Misconduct Statistics and Reporting Project (NPMSRP), and the media. The “race farming’’ is searching out one race in the public and discrimination them. The NPMSRP takes the statistics and look at the report and see if the officer was in the wrong. The media is also a big part where the local police can see how their officers are breaking their own law themselves; it is physical evidence.   The construction of both articles are different but are focused on the same topic police brutality. The one article “ Racism and Police Brutality in America”

PB2A PT 1&2

Charles Ervin PB2A The interesting study I found is on Introduction to the Criminal Justice System, and Race, Crime and Justice. The Professor that study this topic and who I will be studying undering will be Lisa Morris . The Crime because of race has blown up in people faces the past couple years and I can’t wait to study and see how she goes about the topic. Growing up in a dominate area and being darker skinned( African American) I can relate to the topic on a personal level, but between most African Americans I Am not fully pro-black; I’m pro-everybody I don’t see color, I see a human being. If you had to devote a long time to studying something in this field, what would it be? : How to improve better media outlets not to see half of the story but the full thing and not just African American police brutality. Cops that are suspect or who have abused their rights as a officer to single out a race what would be their punishments. Getting young kids off the street.
